Top Eight: Best Coffee Places Rive Droite

Ok, I finally ventured over the other side of the river for different reasons enough to where I was able to compile a list of some really lovely spots for getting excellent coffee! The very obvious and overexposed few near the Louvre, etc will not be making the cut on here - I prefer smaller, quieter or generally less known businesses to give my time and money!

#1 - Coutume

I love this location inside the right bank’s La Grande Épicerie on the 2nd floor in the Passy area of the 16th. Expansive and bright; this is laptop friendly and has a great view along the frontside of the busy street below.

#2 - Brownie

Hello, cute new coffee shop! This opened pretty recently in the 1st and is on the street behind but parallel to Rivoli, which I avoid at all costs due to high foot traffic, etc. Solid coffee and cute vibes with the baristas just cycling through personal Spotify lists for the ambiance music. Take a pause here from vintage shopping in this area!

#3 - Candle Kids

Adore this spot on a lively corner in the Belleville quartier at the top end of the 20th - truly special coffee and the cookie was chef’s kiss. I was visiting a friend one Sunday who lives in the area and this dog-friendly spot was so fun to experience and watch the locals gather on the weekend.

#4 - MiniCafé

Truly a “mini” place on the main street that runs through Île Saint-Louis and it’s perfect for a break when you are walking or biking in between the two banks of Paris! Incredible cold brew (+12 hours steeped) and perfectly sized cookie are my favorites.

#5 - Kott

Met up with new friend Linda of @whereshouldigo.paris fame here on her suggestion! Great coffee and homey vibes on this cool, quiet square location in the Oberkampf area of the Folie-Merancourt quartier of the 11th. It is near the original French Bastards location, although the marble cake here was super delicious!

#6 - Jirisan

The bear branding definitely was the icing on the cake for this new-ish spot in the Vivienne quartier of the 2nd. I highlighted this coffee shop in my newsletter a few months ago when it opened, so subscribe at the bottom of the page to stay in-the-know on places I stumble across here in Paris on my wanderings. I went the first weekend it was open and not on Google maps yet - a lovely latte was enjoyed with my book on a slow walk after I had dropped my daughter off at a birthday party.

#7 - Laïze

This sliver of a spot on Rue de Temple is so cute with it’s minimal decor and Taiwanese infused menu. I got an emporter during a weekend Invader hunt with my kids and can’t wait to return!

#8 - Maurice Sfez

I was SO excited for this coffee and waffle specialty place to open from the owners of the Homer food group. One is coming to the Left Bank quite soon, as well. It is on Rambuteau in the 3rd, which is a notoriously busy section of the neighborhood, but it is so worth it! It can have a queue on the weekends, so I recommend going on a weekday AM when they open. One of the best iced coffees in the city by far and amazing breakfast sandwiches!
